On your way over the Clyde Mountain enjoy the natural
surroundings and scenic vistas before you reach the
charming township of Braidwood.
Once a gold mining town, most visitors today are
attracted to Braidwood for its heritage charm and the
fascinating mix of history and modern business from
friendly hotels to cosmopolitan art galleries.
A little further towards Canberra is the township of
Bungendore which is well worth stopping for. Just half a
hour from the nation's capital, Bungendore township is a
weekend magnet, drawing people Canberra visitors to
explore the array of crafty shops, galleries and cafes.
The local pubs are typicallly country and are great
places to have a cold beer and share a yarn about
yesteryears with some of the locals.
