'Endeavour' comes to Ulladulla

On her voyage through the South Pacific Ocean the replica of Captain Cook's Endeavour will be staying over at Ulladulla Harbour for nine days and will be open for public inspection.When you walk along the decks of this magnificent 48 metre replica and gaze up into the rigging, the feeling and smell of the sea, the timbers and ropes will give you goose bumps as your mind travels back some 200 years in time to the days of adventure and discovery.

Launched in Freemantle on December 9, 1993 the HM Bark Endeavour is a fine example of the traditional skills used by shipwrights, blacksmiths, woodcarvers, sailmakers and riggers, all of whom devoted their passion and knowledge to create this maritime masterpiece. People find different aspects of the vessel hold their interest. A stroll along the decks and down below to the various levels to the Captain's Cabin, crews quarters and cargo holds always amazes visitors as to how everyone lived on board.

There will be volunteer guides on board to answer any questions you might have and access from the wharf is very easy. Also at the wharf will be Endeavour merchandise books, clothing and items of interest which could make great Christmas presents and souvenirs. The Endeavour will be open for inspection from 9 am till 6 pm for the nine days from November 11 - 19. Admission will be family ( two adults and three children under 16) $38, adults $15, children $8 and seniors $12. The town of Ulladulla is right on the harbour and offers plenty of services - take-aways, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, fashion shops etc. The parkland foreshores of the harbour are ideal for family picnics.
