Fishing, Bushwalking & Historic Wrecks
Discovering the villages and surrounds of Greenwell Point, Culburra, Currarong and Callala can turn a visit into a real holiday. The areas East of Nowra are famous for their oysters and great fishing. There are numerous boat ramps and readily available bait and if you can't catch your own, the fish and chip shops of the area offer the freshest in seafood. The inlets and bays of the Crookhaven Bite offer bounty of sailing, snorkeling, diving, sailboarding and all other forms of passive water recreation.
You won't be short of finding somewhere to stay with the wide variety of accommodation available from caravans, cabins and tent sites to holiday houses and motels. Currarong is a quiet little village with shops and a club set by the sea in a peaceful environment.
It's the close township to much photographed Point Perpendicular. There, find well posted walking trails around spectacular Beecroft Headland with views of the majestic cliffs. Those with an interest in maritime events can keep an eye out for the wreck of the SS Merimbula which can still be seen. Stop at one of the local sports clubs or visit Culburra and take a leisurely stroll through the shops.
A visit to Clay Cottage at Culburra, you'll enjoy the quality, prices and range of different gifts, everlasting flowers and garden statues. They also carry crystal, fdragons, oils and burners, chimes and mobiles, garden ornaments, glassware, collectables and dream catchers. Artifical floral arrangements of many colurs are ready to take or they can be made to order, in baskets and vases and even topiaries.
See for your self....turn east off the Princes Highway at south Nowra and discover these coastal villages just half an hour away.
