Greenwell Point
Seafood centre of the South Coast
Gateway to 'Sir John Young' Banks is a sleepy little fishing village seven minutes east of Nowra, nestled on the junction of the Shoalhaven and Crookhaven Rivers. A trip to the Shoalhaven is not complete without spending time in Greenwell Point, whether it's watching the trawlers unload their catch, or laying at the pool, while the kids fish of the wharf. Whilst mum enjoys the tranquillity with the pelicans, bird life, and maybe even a pool of dolphins, dad's jumped on a game fishing boat enjoy the sunrise and an action - packed trip to the banks.

Seafood abounds here, the oysters are amongst the best in the world and are available at the local fresh fish and oyster outlets. If you haven't caught your own fish, fresh fish and chips are available, and for that special treat Greenwell Point boasts the 'best seafood restaurants' in the Shoalhaven.

With the wide variety of quality accommodation, including motel, caravan parks, cabins, holiday cottages and tent sites, you won't be short of finding somewhere to stay.

For your convenience Greenwell Point's friendly community offers a service station, newsagency, general stores, quality butcher, video shop, motor mechanic, hairdresser, real estate agent and hotel. Should you want a quiet game of bowls, a flutter on the pokies or to meet some colourful locals, The Bowling Club can assist - it also has a Chinese Restaurant.

Annual Events - Open Fishing Carnival every Easter - estuary, deep sea and game fishing - trophies and prizes. Trout Fishing Festival - held last weekend in August - a event which attracted over 9000 people last year. The Local swimming pool is filled with trout, offering the experienced and not so experienced a chance to catch a trout with prizes for tagged fish.
Go and discover Greenwell Point for yourself!
