Grape production is constantly increasing & new vineyards are producing quality vines with a unique South Coast flavour. These new wines are competing nationally & winning medals. It is estimated the grape output in 2003 will exceed 500 tonnes. To bring all these producers together & assist new producers to meet market demands, Brand Shoalhaven Inc has been formed. Brand Shoalhaven will be synonymous with the finest quality the region has to offer to over 2.8 million visitors who sample the products each year.
The cultural beauty and the wonderful mild climate of Shoalhaven turns this area into a wonderland of scenery and activity during the winter months. With hidden galleries of beautiful unique works, fantastic accommodation, charming shops full of antiques, historic homesteads, spectacular events and fabulous food and wine, the Shoalhaven is a great place for the whole family to visit. Visitors to the South Coast region are being treated to some of the best produce and primary products in the country.
This is mostly evident from the quality of foods at local restaurants that are able to choose from the best seafoods, lamb, beef and poultry in the area. These are complimented by local organic vegetables, herbs, olives, and cheeses. The standard of local cuisine is exceptionally high, being created by chefs who are setting new standards in the industry. To compliment these dishes, guests can choose from a good selection of award winning wines and now a locally brewed fresh beer.
